This is a Critical Care Nursing Review Course. It is ideal for any seasoned or new nurse (or student) working in acute care environments and wanting to learn more about Adult Critical Care; if you’re a seasoned nurse, or new to nursing practice, or studying for the AACN’s CCRN® certification exam, then this course is for you! It provides a comprehensive review that follows the American Association of Critical care Nurses’ (AACN) examination blueprint. (This course is also a great foundation for students & recent graduates entering the nursing workforce and wanting to get their feet wet with critical care practice).

This 2-day course is taught by Lee Taylor-Vaughan, MSN, RN, APN, CCRN-CSC, CEN, NREMT-P, LNC. Lee speaks nationally on critical care and takes the both of the CCRN and PCCN examinations for each renewal.

The IV Instructor Program trains RNs who wish to become an instructor in IV Therapy. To complete this program the IV instructor candidate must have already completed the Health Care Training Academy's IV Therapy Certification program, which conforms to the National Standards for IV/VAD therapy. Instructor candidates must have a strong command of adult teaching principles, have scored a 90% or greater on the HCTA’s IV certification provider exam, and along with having demonstrated/expressed interest at a provider course to teach others. The components to complete this course are:

·        Hold an unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in any US state,

·        Masters in Nursing (Preferred); BSN minimum requirement OR hold CRNI certification OR hold APN certificate/license

·        1-3 years’ experience with IVs and IV troubleshooting

·        Score a 90% or greater on the IV program final written exam

·        Attend a ½ day workshop which includes setting co-teaching with faculty and working with students

·        Possess strong troubleshooting skills

·        Have a friendly, non-intimidating approach to teaching

·        Demonstrated exceptional IV (VAD) initiation and IV (VAD) removal,

·        Complete the IV instructor course

·        Signed off by IV Faculty, recommending IV Instructorship

Once IV Faculty/Instructor status has been issued, the IV instructor should renew their Instructorship every 2 years. During each 2 year instructorship period you must teach at least 4 classes and one of those classes must be monitored by another IV Therapy Faculty member, obtain a 90% or greater on the IV therapy provider exam and main exceptional skills & troubleshooting related to IV therapy.

You MUST bring your textbook with you to the course--no exceptions . If you already own the current textbook for the course, then you need not purchase an additional copy. All American Heart Association registrations are reviewed.  Once reviewed a confirmation email is sent to your email address on file. Please check your email for registration confirmation.  Occasionally email is delivered to one's Junk/Spam email folder; therefore, please check your spam/junk folder before contacting us. Renewals: you must submit a copy of your unexpired card to register- Take a picture of the front and back of your card and email to registration@CardiacEd.com  

Expired/Renewal: Under certain strict criteria, a student who has expired may attend a renewal course. However, the student must 1) pay the full tuition for that course (the renewal rate is not available), and 2) apply for an renewal course waiver by calling our office: (732) 579-8690; your course renewal waiver will be reviewed by the education committee; should your waiver application be approved, then the full course tuition will be billed to your form of payment and acceptance into the course will be granted. Only students with signficant experience in rescucitation will be considered for a waiver to enter a renewal course. Students who do not successfully complete the renewal program must take the Full course.
