This ACLS course is for those who are taking ACLS for the first time, have allowed their ACLS card to lapse, or wish to take the full course.
 
The following are required to attend this course: 
  • The current 2020 AHA ACLS textbook
  • ACLS pre-test. In order to attend this course the AHA requires ALL students to score a 70%, or greater, on the ACLS pre-test. The pre-test location and access will be located in your account (automatically created upon registration) on our HCTAUSA.org website.

Additionally, YOU MUST have taken an EKG and Emergency Pharmacology course prior to taking this course, and be able to demonstrate BLS/CPR competency. You can take the EKG & Emergency Pharmacology online (click here for online course registration - available 24 hours).

Course duration is approximately 10-11 hours. Renewal students may attend this entire course, but must pay full tuition. As we are a small center, this is a one day course.

This dynamic and engaging critical care course is great for health care providers working (or wanting to work) in a critical care environment. This program is an intensive exploration of the foundations of critical care. During this program, attendees participate in online lectures, highly engaging scenarios, and skills stations. The Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) course prepares non-intensivists to manage critically ill patients for the first 24 hours OR until transfer to an appropriate critical care consultation can be arranged. The PALS Instructor program is designed to provide participants with the fundamentals of teaching Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) to a variety of audiences.
 
The program offers a two-year instructorship through the American Heart Association (AHA). Successful completion of this course allows the participant to teach PALS stations under a Course Director.
This PALS Instructor program consists of ; AHA PALS Instructor Manual & Online AHA PALS Instructor Essentials these materials are required for entry into this course (included in course tuition). Please call our office to make arrangments to have your materials delivered. Please visit our home page for general information and requirements to take this course.  Followed by a one-day classroom session detailing learning stations, administrative policies, the practice-while-watching system, and other logistics of training.
The total course duration, including online course work, is approximately 19.2 hours.
 
Lastly, students must be monitored while teaching at two provider courses under the supervision of a faculty member.

Your tuition for this course includes the American Heart Association online BLS course (part 1), Skills practice (optional) (part 2), and in-person skills testing (part 3).
 
In-person BLS skills testing takes approximately 30 minutes.
 
No textbook is required for this course. You will be issued an online key for your online coursework once you've registered for the course. Once you've completed the online coursework, print your certification and bring it with you to the in-person skills testing.

Skills testing is performed at one of our publicly scheduled courses or by appointment only, for an additional fee, at our office Monday - Thursday 9:30am - 3:00pm & Fridays 9:30am - 1:30pm. Due to being a small center we are able to offer this course over one day.
 
Initial/Full Course: This course is for those who are taking PALS for the first time, for those who have a lapsed PALS card, or those who wish to take the full course.
 
This course does not cover EKG or Emergency Pharmacology. Therefore, an EKG & Emergency Pharmacology course is REQUIRED for new PALS students.
 
The following are required to attend this course:
  • Current 2020 PALS course textbook

ACLS training provides the initial steps of advanced resuscitation for adult patients. This ACLS UPDATE ("renewal") course is for those who are renewing ONLY.  The course duration is approx. 4.5 - 5.5 hours.

 

The following are required to attend this course: 

  • Current AHA ACLS Card (not expired)
  • Current AHA 2020 ACLS Textbook, AHA requires that each student have their own textbook that is not loaned, rented, etc
  • ACLS pre-test. In order to attend this course the AHA requires ALL students to score a 70%, or greater, on the ACLS pre-test. The pre-test location and access will be located in your account (automatically created upon registration) on our HCTAUSA.org website.
  • AHA BLS card

You cannot register for this program without ALL of these requirements.

The Basic Life Support Instructor program is designed to teach participants the fundamentals of teaching Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) to a variety of audiences.
You MUST hold an AHA BLS Provider card to be able to take this course.
The program offers a two-year instructorship through the American Heart Association (AHA). Successful completion of this course allows the participant to teach Healthcare BLS, Heartsaver BLS/AED, First Aid, Pediatric First Aid and Family and Friends BLS. Non-Healthcare providers may only teach Heartsaver and Family and Friends programs. The BLS Instructor Manual is required for entry into this course (included in course tuition). The total course duration, including non-classroom work, is approximately 12 hours.

Note AHA courses: it is required that every student must have their OWN copy of thecurrent course textbook before, during, and after the course. You MUST bring your textbook with you to the course--no exceptions . If you already own the current textbook for the course, then you need not purchase an additional copy. All American Heart Association registrations are reviewed.  Once reviewed a confirmation email is sent to your email address on file. Please check your email for registration confirmation.  Occasionally email is delivered to one's Junk/Spam email folder; therefore, please check your spam/junk folder before contacting us. Renewals: you must submit a copy of your unexpired card to register- Take a picture of the front and back of your card and email to registration@CardiacEd.com  

Expired/Renewal: Under certain strict criteria, a student who has expired may attend a renewal course. However, the student must 1) pay the full tuition for that course (the renewal rate is not available), and 2) apply for an renewal course waiver by calling our office: (732) 579-8690; your course renewal waiver will be reviewed by the education committee; should your waiver application be approved, then the full course tuition will be billed to your form of payment and acceptance into the course will be granted. Only students with signficant experience in rescucitation will be considered for a waiver to enter a renewal course. Students who do not successfully complete the renewal program must take the Full course.
